Juan José Plascencia known as Don Tana is the founder of Giuseppis restaurants, which became into an important chain of food establishments on both sides of the border, making everyone in Tijuana proud.
Originally known as “Pizzas Giuseppis”, located at Boulevard Agua Caliente, we opened to the public on October 25th, 1969. It was right there where Don Tana, aided by his wife Martha and the famous Nana Chela, started it all; it was in a very small place where he realized his dream, inspired by the San Diego pizzerias and aided by one of his closest friends, that he embarked on this visionary adventure.
The success of what at first was just a pizza parlor has remained, thanks to values such as honesty, family and perseverance, reflected on our guaranteed outstanding service that over the years has earned the trust from our usual clientele while becoming the choice of each new generation.
Thanks to the efforts of the Plascencia Family, and all past and present staff, we have maintained our traditions for more than 40 years, carefully waiting to address an even longer history of success.
Over 40 years of experience can only result from an effort based on values such as honesty, family and perseverance. Values are transmitted to the services we have offered to our clientele since October 25, 1969 when "Pizzas Giuseppis" was inaugurated by Juan José Plascencia, known as "Don Tana" with the help of his wife, Martha, Nana Chela and a very close friend, the small place was inspired on various San Diego pizzerias.
Giuseppis evolved from a small pizza parlor, delighting the palates of local customers and tourists’, to a culinary reference for each new generation. Over time, Giuseppis transformed itself into the cornerstone of Grupo Plascencia, whose standards of trust, service and satisfaction, held by its past and present staff, have not only made Tijuana proud, but have transcend beyond it’s borders.
